Dr. Keturah Reese- Assistant Principal

Reese

Greetings,
It is my honor to serve as one of the assistant principals at Central High School.  I have been in education for 20 years.  My teaching career began in my native state of Mississippi where I taught junior high school science. In 2004, my teaching journey began in Bibb County at McEvoy Middle School which later transitioned to Ballard-Hudson Middle School.  I taught middle school science to 7th and 8th graders.  I then transitioned to Westside High School where I taught high school science courses. I left Westside as a teacher and moved to Central HS as an academic coach.  For four years, I served as an academic coach at Central.
I have been blessed to be a part of various endeavors while in Bibb County.  I have been a mentor to many teachers, apart of numerous leadership teams, both a HS and MS department chair, a PBIS Coach, and a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship mentor just to name a few.  In 2008, I was named the Bibb County Teacher of the Year.  I also was named one of the top five Bibb County teachers of the year in 2015. Additionally I am apart of BCSD's first leadership induction cohort.
I received my BS in Biology Education from Alcorn State University. I received my M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Southern MS, and my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University.  I received my leadership certification through MGRESA in 2019.
I am married to Kawain and have two wonderful daughters, Kaylee and Khyla as well as a puppy named Khobe!  I am a dedicated member of Lundy Chapel Baptist Church.  Finally, I am an illustrious member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
