International Baccalaureate Program

World School

25th Anniversary

Welcome to the International Baccalaureate Program at Central High School

The program's beginning starts with a small 9th grade group in 1992-1993 school year. Since 1996, Central High School in Macon, GA has graduated students from the prestigious International Baccalaureate Program. Hundreds of students from the Macon area have challenged themselves academically and artistically with this uniquely rigorous course of study that includes high-level academics as well as required research components, community service aspects, and much more.

The IB program is much more than a class or a series of classes; it is a program devoted to educating the whole student, creating a well-rounded learner who is no longer intimidated by his/her weaknesses. The IB is a model education for the modern student.

IB is a magnet application program only offered at Central High School.

9th and 10th grade are Pre DP, involving completion of prerequisites and requirements for Georgia HS graduation and for the IB 11th and 12th grade years.

11th and 12th grade students are fully registered with IB as Diploma Candidates. 11th and 12th grade involves full participation in all 6 academic areas, submission of TOK and Extended Essays, and completion of CAS. An examination for the subjects are in May of the 12th grade year.
